How many of you are like me? Merrily knitting along for several years and proudly posting photos of your finished objects when out of the blue someone makes an innocent comment and shatters your world!
Not really, it wasn't quite that bad.
I had a kind woman comment on a photo of a sock I was working on.
First she complimented my yarn. Then she proceeds to ask me if I'm using a pattern because she has never seen a sock pattern that uses twisted stitches like that before.
My response was of course that I'm not sure what she means, maybe it's the bright colors of the yarn.
This was late at night and I spent the next couple of hours going through books and You Tube videos and was devastated to discover that I had been doing something wrong all this time!
No..........
I was wrapping my yarn around the needle incorrectly so it caused my stitches to twist.
I went online the next day to thank her .
So moral of the story is, don't ever be too proud to accept criticism. There's so much to learn in our craft and no one is perfect.
If you do feel the need to correct someone, please be gentle and kind like this woman was to me.
Now I have some learning to do!
Good day to all!
